Six students from Oak Hall School earned second place honors at UF’s annual Chemathon competition.

The one-day event on April 25 focused on chemistry students from Florida’s private and public high schools and featured a tour of the university’s research labs and a chemistry show. Students competed in an individual written test, a quiz bowl competition and a hands-on lab activity.

“Chemathon is an incredible opportunity for our students to apply their classroom learning in a dynamic, real-world setting,” said Jordan Torgunrud, Oak Hall’s Upper School chemistry teacher in a school press release. “We are proud of their hard work, teamwork and curiosity.”
