Key Points
  • Pamela Marshall-Koons withdrew from the 2026 Alachua County School Board race for District 3 after prayer and careful consideration.
  • Marshall-Koons is the executive director of At The WeLLness Network and ran for Alachua County Sheriff in 2024.
  • Incumbent Sarah Rockwell is now the only candidate filed for District 3 and seeks a second term after her 2022 election.

The list of early candidates who have filed to run for the School Board of Alachua County (SBAC) in 2026 has shrunk, as Pamela Marshall-Koons has withdrawn as a candidate for District 3.

In a Dec. 22 letter sent to Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Kim Barton and Election and Candidate Services specialist Yvette Carreras, Marshall-Koons said “after prayer and careful consideration,” she has “decided not to pursue” the District 3 position.

Marshall-Koons, the current executive director of At The WeLLness Network, ran as a candidate for Alachua County Sheriff in the 2024 general election. The position was ultimately won by Chad Scott following a recount.

With Marshall-Koons’ departure, it leaves incumbent Sarah Rockwell as the only candidate who has filed to run for the District 3 seat. Rockwell is seeking her second term on the SBAC after being elected in 2022.
