Round Room will host its 13th annual “School Rocks Backpack Giveaway” at Verizon stores in Alachua and Chiefland on Sunday, July 27.
The giveaway will take place at 1 p.m. at Verizon stores located at 15560 NW US Highway 441 in Alachua and 1604 N. Young Blvd. in Chiefland.
The nationwide event occurs at more than 1,200 stores and Round Room, a Verizon authorized retailer, will give away more than $3 million worth of backpacks, according to a press release.
Since its inception, Round Room has provided more than 1.5 children with a backpack. Leftover backpacks will be donated to local schools of each store’s choice.
