Santa Fe College will host its annual Free to Learn Symposium on Friday, Nov. 1.
The event will run from 9 am to 4 pm at the Blount Center, located at 530 W University Ave in Gainesville.
The event, themed “Opening Doors for the Justice-Impacted,” is open to SF students and community members. Workshops will focus on advocating for the justice-impacted, addressing their well-being, and identifying support resources.
This project raises awareness about incarceration in Florida and its impact, focusing on education’s role in reducing recidivism. It amplifies the voices of incarcerated individuals, especially SF students, and highlights their challenges in accessing education and resources for re-entry into the community.
