Santa Fe College’s East Gainesville Initiative (EGI) will celebrate its annual community forum’s 20th anniversary on Sept. 22 at Blount Hall in downtown Gainesville.

The event’s keynote speakers will be SF President Dr. Paul Broadie II and SF Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Naima Brown.

EGI’s mission is dedicated to fighting poverty and assisting citizens throughout the county as it offers educational outreach for all ages, vocational training, and community empowerment events while accessing the necessary technology.

Mainstreet does not have a paywall, but pavement-pounding journalism is not free. Join your neighbors who make this vital work possible.

The annual event starts at 6 p.m. and will look back at its past two decades and share the progress SF is making toward our equity and diversity goals. The college relies on input and participation from parents and interested community members to offer suggestions for what EGI should be doing to empower participants.
