Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses will make a special appearance for children with therapy horse Circus and his book “Spots” next week at the High Springs Library.

Circus is schedule to make his appearance at 10:30 a.m. on June 5 at 23779 US Hwy 27 in High Springs.

The event is part of Gentle Carousel’s Reading with Horses literacy program, which includes a book reading followed by an appearance from the character children have just heard about in the book.

Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses, the first miniature therapy horse charity in the world, is a nonprofit that has been in operation for 27 years. Its teams of tiny horses visit thousands of adults and children each year, including at hospitals, hospice programs, assisted living programs, and with families, veterans and first responders who have experienced traumatic events.

Gentle Carousel therapy horses have worked with children and families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida for 18 years.
