The University of Florida and Santa Fe College in Gainesville will shut down on Thursday, Sept. 26 as Hurricane Helene is forecasted to hit North Florida.
UF has canceled all classes and student-related activities, including online classes and exams. Staff and students should click here to watch for UF storm updates. SF will be closed on Friday, Sept. 27, and UF, which originally said it would reopen on Friday, announced on Thursday that it will also be closed on Friday.
The Food Hall at Gator Corner and the Eatery at Broward Hall will remain open on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. as Florida Fresh Dining will continue to serve the campus community during the storm.
SF’s Emergency Management Team will make recommendations based on the storm conditions as to when it will reopen. Students and staff are asked to watch the SF Alerts webpage for updates.
In Lake City, Florida Gateway College (FGC) announced Tuesday that all offices and campuses will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27.
FGC will resume all operations on Monday, Sept. 30.
