Attending a state college and transferring to a university allows students flexibility and choice in their education. The University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) now offers the Gator Tracks Transfer Pathway, in partnership with Santa Fe College, to provide a seamless transition for associate degree students aspiring to finish their bachelor’s degree at UF.

Students interested in one of 20 eligible CALS majors, such as agricultural operations management, geomatics, entomology and nematology or wildlife ecology and conservation, can now work hand-in-hand with a CALS academic advisor as they prepare to transition from their associate degree to a UF bachelor’s degree.

“There are so many talented students at our state and community colleges, and we are committed to giving them the resources and support they need to succeed if they want to earn their bachelor’s degree at UF,” said CALS Dean Dr. Kati Migliaccio. “Gator Tracks is a game-changer, eliminating barriers and making several majors more accessible.”

The program offers a comprehensive suite of benefits, including one-on-one advising with CALS academic advisors, on-campus and virtual transfer workshops and expedited transfer admissions decisions.

“This is a transformational opportunity for our students and supports them on their journey to the state’s flagship university,” Santa Fe College President Paul Broadie II said. “Our students will benefit from an academically rigorous education here while they prepare for their transition into UF.”

Each year, about 30% of the CALS graduating class started at UF as a transfer student. Applications to join the Gator Tracks Transfer Pathway are currently open for students at Santa Fe College.
