UF to hold summer commencement ceremonies

UF expects more than 3,100 students to graduate at its summer commencement ceremonies on Aug. 11-12.

According to a UF release, the three commencement ceremonies will be held in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

The first ceremony will celebrate 380 doctoral graduates and will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11.

The second ceremony, slated for 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, will feature graduates who will be receiving their bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degree graduates for the College of the Arts; College of Design, Construction and Planning; College of Education; College of Health and Human Performance; Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering; College of Journalism and Communications; College of Medicine; College of Nursing; College of Pharmacy; College of Public Health and Health Professions; and College of Veterinary Medicine. 

The final ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, and will feature graduates receiving their bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degrees for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Warrington College of Business.

This summer’s UF graduates will represent 63 countries and 47 states.

Damon Woodward will be the faculty speaker at all three ceremonies. According to the release, “Woodard is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Florida Institute for National Security and Applied Artificial Intelligence Group in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.”
