Westside Baptist Church Pastor David Chauncey wanted to put something together for his congregation this Easter weekend even though “we can’t come together as a church body.”
And on Good Friday (April 10th), the church launched a virtual tour to the cross.
“I’m really excited about this journey to the cross,” Chauncey said. “We want to take you on the journey that Jesus went through. Make this a time of worship and prayer.”
Journey to the Cross is a virtual tour of the steps Jesus took leading to his death on the cross.
Along the way, the journey participants will take the Lord’s Supper, read scripture, watch video stories, answer discussion questions, sing and pray. The journey takes one to two hours to complete.
In order to prepare, the journey announcement suggests participants pray and gather the elements of grape juice and bread or crackers.

“As you walk through this story, our hope is that you will be immersed into each moment and be moved to worship and meditation,” the introduction to the journey reads. “At each station you will find a suggested bible reading, a video telling the story of that station, discussion questions for you and those with you, and prayer points to pray through. We believe this will be an incredible time of worship for you and your family.”
As a bonus the church is offering a chance to win a $50 gift card.
Those who take the journey on Friday can take a photo and post it to enter a drawing. According to the contest announcement on the church Facebook page here’s how to enter:
