According to a Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) release, Monte Deaundre Ellis, 21, of Live Oak is being sought for robbery and carjacking.

On Sunday evening, Ellis took a vehicle from a victim at gunpoint at an auto parts store in Live Oak. Ellis left behind a juvenile accomplice, who fled and foot but was captured a few blocks away by SCSO deputies and Live Oak Police Department (LOPD) officers. Ellis later discarded the vehicle off Goldkist Boulevard.

Ellis then attempted to take another vehicle at gunpoint at a convenience store located on US Highway 90 west of Live Oak. The victim fled inside the store, which caused Ellis to flee on foot. Law enforcement agencies gathered information from the victims and video surveillance in the areas of the crime scenes to obtain an arrest warrant for Ellis. He is wanted for attempted armed carjacking along with additional pending charges.

Ellis is considered armed and dangerous. If you have information on his whereabouts, contact the SCSO dispatch center at 386-362-2222 or report tips anonymously by calling the Suwannee County Crime Stoppers at 386-208-8477.
