Farmers and others impacted by Hurricane Idalia can find assistance at a Farmer Recovery Center that will open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday in Fanning Springs Wednesday.
Representatives will be on hand to help from the USDA Farm Service Agency, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA Rural Development and U.S. Small Business Administration.
Even those who experienced damage apart from their farm can apply for FEMA financial assistance.
UF/IFAS estimated the damage from the hurricane at more than $78 million.
Locals can also apply for assistance at disasterassistance.gov, use the FEMA mobile app or call 800-621-3362. The line is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. More information is also online at fema.gov/disaster/4734.
