A Monday afternoon blaze destroyed a residential structure and several vehicles in an unincorporated area between High Springs and Alachua.
According to press releases from the High Springs Fire Department (HSFD) and Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR), multiple units responded to a blaze at 3 p.m. located in the 15000 block of NW 193rd Street in unincorporated Alachua County for a reported structure fire.
The fire – which could be seen from US 441 – involved a 1,000-square-foot single-story structure fully engulfed in flames. Several vehicles outside the building were also on fire. Wind gusts up to 15 mph led to spot fires on the ground and in trees to ignite throughout the area.
The HSFD and ACFR were joined by the La Crosse Fire Department in extinguishing the fire, which destroyed the structure and several vehicles surrounding it.
No injuries were reported and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
