A Miami man wanted for attempted murder was arrested on Sunday morning in Lake City.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, officers arrested Quinton Tyrell Bryson, 22, of Miami who was wanted on an active Miami-Dade County warrant for first-degree attempted murder and probation violation.

The incident started when LCPD officers were dispatched to SW Windsong Circle at 5:50 a.m. for a crime serious in nature that also required the LCPD Criminal Investigations Division’s on-call investigator.

During the call, the LCPD investigator interviewed the subject involved and the man pushed the investigator in the chest and fled the scene. LCPD personnel gave chase and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies responded to aid in apprehending the suspect.

Law enforcement personnel took the suspect into custody near SW Bascom Norris Drive.  A check revealed the suspect as Bryson, who was wanted on an active warrant. “I am extremely pleased with the cooperation between the officers from the Lake City Police Department and the deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.” Said Lake City Chief of Police Gerald Butler in the release. “(CCSO) Sheriff Hunter and I have recently begun efforts of coordinated training and operations between our respective agencies. This is another positive result of those efforts, we have another dangerous individual off our streets and in jail.”
