Motorcyclist dies in collision on Main Street

A motorcycle rider died Monday morning following a collision with a car on N. Main Street and NE 31^st Avenue.  
 
According to Gainesville Police Department (GPD) spokesperson David Chudzik, the accident occurred at 11:47 a.m. and traffic was diverted from the area until 2:45 p.m. 

GPD traffic homicide personnel were investigating the incident.  
 
Emergency responders declared the motorcycle rider dead on scene.
