
A pedestrian died along SW Archer Road after being struck by two vehicles on Friday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 51-year-old Gainesville male driving a sedan eastbound on SW Archer Road at 6:45 a.m. was proceeding through a green light at SW 63rd Avenue on the inside lane when an unidentified black female started walking south across Archer. The man swerved and braked to avoid striking the pedestrian but made minor contact at low speeds that caused the pedestrian to fall.
A 55-year-old Gainesville female driving a sedan on the inside lane did not see the pedestrian on the road and struck her.
Emergency responders reported the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.
