A pickup hit and killed a bicyclist on a service road off SW Archer Road on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) social media post, a gray Toyota pickup hit the bicyclist – a 37-year-old man – on a service road off the 3500 block of SW Archer Road behind Kohls around 12:50 p.m.

The pickup fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The vehicle has tinted windows and likely damage to its front end, according to the post.
