‘No Kings Day’ protests slated for Gainesville, High Springs

Rallies will be held Saturday, June 14, in Gainesville and High Springs for the “No Kings Day” nationwide protests against President Donald Trump.

The first rally, led by 50501 movement protesters, will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Cora Roberson Park (600 SW 6th St.) in Gainesville.

The rally will feature music, speeches and multimedia presentations with protesters rejecting the “ongoing illegal and unconstitutional actions of President Donald Trump—including his unwanted National Guard standoff at peaceful anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles,” according to a press release.

At the Gainesville rally, North Central Florida Indivisible will host a Mutual Aid Table where people can bring and take what they need to support each other in lieu of government support. Click here for a list of requested food for families in need. The group plans to pack food into complete sets as it is brought in.

The second rally, organized by North Central Florida Indivisible and the 50501 movement, will start at 2 p.m. in High Springs with a march from the old train depot (23517 NW 185th Rd.) to High Springs City Hall.

A reading of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights will be held at High Springs City Hall.
