Alachua County and Gainesville announce Memorial Day schedules

ALACHUA COUNTY – Other than essential services, all Alachua County offices (which are now working remotely), will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020.
Due to the Memorial Day holiday, residential curbside collection service for solid waste, recycling, and yard trash will be delayed by one day. The regular schedule for these services will not occur on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Monday’s regular collection will occur on Tuesday, and so on through the week ending with Thursday’s collection on Friday. Regular collection schedules will resume on Monday, June 1.
The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers, the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station, and the Hazardous Waste Collection Center will also be closed Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. All facilities will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 26.

GAINESVILLE – In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, city offices (which are now working remotely) will be closed Monday, May 25. 
 
The Regional Transit System (RTS) will provide its holiday service, which runs between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., to routes 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 13, 15, 16, 20, 26, 35, 43, 75 and 711. Please visit the RTS website and schedule pages for more information. 
 
Residential curbside collection for garbage, recycling and yard trash will not be picked up on the holiday, and will delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
