Alachua County’s tourism development director Jessica Hurov will serve on the board of Destinations Florida following a recent appointment, helping increase the effectiveness of tourism organizations across the state.
“I am honored to be selected to serve with my fellow tourism professionals from around the State as we work together for the best interests of the tourism industry in Florida,” said Hurov in a press release.
Destinations Florida was organized in 1996 and educates on the importance of tourism in Florida and local tourism promoters.
“The success of the tourism industry in Alachua County, and throughout the state of Florida, is a critical economic driver,” said Marihelen Wheeler, county commissioner and chair of the tourist development council. “We value our partnership with Destinations Florida and appreciate that Alachua County will be represented on their board moving forward.”
