Alachua County Sheriff’s Office asking for help in solving possible homicide case from 2019

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking help in locating Stephen Cox, who was last seen on September 3rd, 2019.
 
His vehicle was found burned and abandoned in the bottom of a sinkhole in the Orange Heights/Windsor area of Alachua County on September 5th, 2019.
 
Detectives have been unable to locate Cox after extensively searching the Orange Heights/Windsor area of Alachua County for the past year. Detectives now believe that Cox was the victim of foul play and are investigating this case as a potential homicide.
 
After a year of searching, the whereabouts of Cox or his remains are still unknown. Information is needed to help bring a sense of closure to the family.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward.
