To ensure the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections website has comprehensive security features, the office’s new official site is VoteAlachua.gov.
According to a Supervisor of Elections press release, website domains ending with .gov are reserved for U.S. government organizations and managed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The domains are protected by enhanced security features and makes it difficult for malicious actors to impersonate.
“Our office is committed to providing fair and secure elections to Alachua County’s voters,” Supervisor of Elections Kim A. Barton said in the release. “Switching our website to a .gov domain is another step of many in making sure we meet that standard.”
The office’s previous domain—VoteAlachua.com—will now direct to VoteAlachua.gov. Voters can use either address to access the office’s website.
