The City of Alachua released the following statement about its 2020 4th of July event:
“Due to the State of Florida’s requirements on limiting crowd size as part of the Governor’s reopening plans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual July 4th Celebration in Alachua, which attracts more than 25,000 people each year, has been cancelled. We know how important this special event is for our community, so we are working on moving the festivities to Labor Day weekend. We will provide more details as the planning continues.”
