Williams applied for candidacy on Feb. 11, two days after refuting accusations from various political organizations that she influenced the closing of the Hathcock Community Center (Precinct 53) ahead of the election.

Menadier was re-appointed to Alachua’s Planning and Zoning Board by the City Commission in December, having previously served from May 2022 to July 2025. He contributed to the board’s recent denial of the controversial special permit for the Tara April development near Mill Creek Sink.

According to his LinkedIn profile, the University of Florida graduate and Alachua Chamber of Commerce director works full-time as a real estate agent and founded Menadier Engineering in 2022. He applied to run for the City Commission on Feb. 17.

Applications for Williams and Menadier included receipts from the Florida Commission on Ethics for submitting to its electronic financial disclosure filing system.

Youmas applied in October 2025 and announced his campaign during the Jan. 26 commission meeting. He is a store manager at CVS Health, where he’s worked for over 24 years and has experience with non-profits and ministry.

According to his campaign Facebook page, Youmas aims to guide smart growth that preserves Alachua, be a “neighborhood champion” and provide accountability constituents can see.

All nine Alachua County municipalities are holding elections this year from April through December. Mainstreet will publish stories in the coming weeks leading up to the elections featuring interviews with the candidates and their goals they’d seek to accomplish in office.
