While many eyes are on statewide and national elections, Alachua County has a slate of notable elections coming this year.

Noon Friday marked the end of the qualifying period for statewide, multi-county, county and special district candidates.

Soon after the deadline, Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Kim Barton released the names of every candidate who will appear on the ballot in Alachua County. Mainstreet is publishing that list below in its entirety, along with the contact information of each candidate.

Wow, God save the Queen and Alachua County!

To be on the safe side, just vote AGAINST any INCUMBENT. No one could be worse.

Why is it that when I review the list of local candidates for office I feel the need to pull my rubber boots up higher. Could it be that the slime and sludge of local government just gets deeper and smellier with each passing year

Thank you for creating & maintaining this informative Mainstreetdailynews.com website. Trustworthiness is a “core facilitative condition” in any and all relationships; and most especially in relationships where there are unequal Power dynamics (eg. parent-child-teacher-administrator; employer-employee; management- Labor; Owner-Supervisor-worker; police-citizen; officers-sergeants-corporals-privates; royals-celebrities-commoners; hosts-guests; professionals-amateurs; skilled-unskilled, etcetera). Furthermore, Trust is a slow growing Vine which is notoriously easy to undercut. Accurate information increases trust and improves relationships while falsehoods damage and can ultimately destroy relationships. An axiom of the Counseling profession is: “We’re only as sick as our secrets;” which upholds and confirms the biblically enshrined Principle #HonestyIsTheBestPolicy.

Vote for Lew Welge. He’s a great option. His opponent has been in office for almost a decade and nothing has improved.
