- Mayor Andrew Miller will run for a three-year term in Seat 1 and face challenger Timothy Guinn Jr. in the Nov. 3 High Springs City Commission election.
- Gigi Buigas and former Commissioner Ross Ambrose will compete for Seat 2, with Vice Mayor Wayne Bloodsworth Jr. not seeking reelection after starting a short term in March 2024.
The candidates running for seats on the High Springs City Commission during the Nov. 3 election are set after the three-day qualifying period concluded last week.
Incumbent and Mayor Andrew Miller will run for another three-year term in Seat 1 and face a challenge from 35-year-old Timothy “Timmy” Guinn Jr. Miller has served on the commission since 2023 and was elected mayor in November.
Seat 2 will see a new commissioner sworn in as Vice Mayor Wayne Bloodsworth Jr. will not run for reelection following a short term that started in March 2024 after former Commissioner Steve Tapanes resigned.
Archer Elementary School art teacher Gigi Buigas will face former High Springs Commissioner Ross Ambrose, who served on the dais from 2020 to 2023.
Ambrose ran for reelection in 2023 but lost to Miller. He served over 18 years on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and currently serves as treasurer of the local nonprofit Heart of High Springs.
