The primary election has arrived with polls open a final time from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
To vote for the Democratic or Republican nominees, a voter must be registered with the respective party. However, other races will be open for everyone, including the Gainesville City Commission and the School Board of Alachua County.
For the primary election, voting must take place in-person at the assigned polling location for the precinct you live in. Voters can find their precinct location online at votealachua.gov or by calling the Supervisor of Elections office at 352-374-5252.
The Supervisor of Elections office is not a voting location on Election Day.
In-person voting requires a signature and photo ID. The following forms are accepted:
- Florida Driver’s License
- Florida ID Card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
- United States Passport
- Debit or Credit Card
- Military ID
- Student ID
- Retirement Center ID
- Neighborhood Association ID
- Public Assistance ID (Social Security or other social services)
- Veteran Health ID issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs
- A license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to S. 790.06.
- Employee ID issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.
Polling locations close at 7 p.m., but a voter in line at 7 p.m. will still be allowed to vote if they remain in the line.
