On Sunday, October 4th at approximately 2:30AM, at 600 NW 4th Street (Fletcher’s) GPD officers arrested, Jocquez White, 23, for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The arrest occurred after officers and citizens heard gunshots in the immediate area. Officers, who were in the area responding to a gathering of an exorbitantly large crowd, then observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. GPD officers stopped the vehicle, identified a weapon in the vehicle, and arrested White after a criminal history check revealed he was a convicted felon.

As reported in press releases over the past few weeks, GPD continues to respond to increased incidents of shots fired, shootings, and armed robberies. Although multiple arrests have been made relating to these incidents, GPD continues to ask for the public to remain vigilant in helping to prevent similar instances from occurring.
