High Springs hires new City Manager

The High Springs City Commission has selected Ashley Stathatos of Anna, Texas as the city’s new manager. Stathatos comes to High Springs with over 20 years of local government experience working for cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

 Most recently, Stathatos worked with the City of Anna, Texas, where she served in management roles in Economic Development, Planning and Neighborhood Services. Previously, she was City Manager in Justin, Texas; Haslet, Texas; and Oak Point, Texas.

Prior to becoming a City Manager, she held various other municipal positions and worked as a consultant for GSBS  Architects of Fort Worth, Texas.

“High Springs is a charming city with so much opportunity.” said Stathatos. “I cannot wait  to get started, meet the team and work with the Mayor and City Commission to achieve their goals for the community.”  

Stathatos has strengths in economic development, planning, growth management, capital projects,  fiscal sustainability, process improvement and community-consensus building. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of  Arts degree from Virginia Tech.  

She succeeds Joel DeCoursey, Jr. who has accepted a position with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. Her first day will be November 30th.
