ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Commercial Horticulture Program for October 2020. This program is being offered by Dr. Tatiana Sanchez, Commercial Horticulture Agent.

Florida law states that all commercial fertilizer applicators must have a certificate from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. To get this certificate, each commercial applicator must be trained in the GI-BMPs and receive a certificate of completion from UF/IFAS and the Department of Environmental Protection. Continued Education Units (CEU’s) will be awarded.

The workshop registration fee is $10.00, and participants must register online (those needing assistance with registering can call the Extension Office at 352-955-2402). This fee includes access to materials and CEU’s. Participants must complete the Zoom registration that will be emailed after the online registration. A separate fee of $15.00 is necessary to have access to the online GI-BMP certification test. Instructions will be provided after Zoom registration is completed. Those only attending for CEU’s do not need to pay this fee or take the test. Participants must register by October 15.

The link to the event and password will be emailed to all participants after the Zoom registration is completed.

Participants do not need a microphone or webcam to participate. However, practice questions are sent out at random intervals to ensure attendees are participating. Failure to answer may result in not receiving CEUs.
