Brian T. Cook has been named President of the HCA Healthcare North Florida Division, including its affiliated HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital in Ocala, HCA Florida Lake City Hospital in Lake City, and HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville.
The HCA Healthcare North Florida Division is part of HCA Florida Healthcare, one of the state’s largest health systems.
Cook currently serves as the president of the HCA Healthcare Far West Division based in Henderson, Nevada. Cook will assume his duties on Jan. 1.
This is a homecoming for Cook who, before becoming president of the HCA Healthcare Far West Division five years ago, served as chief executive officer at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville and chief executive officer at HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee.
He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance at Florida State University.
Richard Hammett, current president of the HCA Healthcare North Florida Division, was promoted to president of the newly formed HCA Healthcare Atlantic Group.
“Brian is an exceptional healthcare leader who has led the HCA Healthcare Far West Division with integrity and respect for both patients and colleagues,” Hammett said. “We’re all looking forward to him returning home and contributing his leadership experience to the North Florida Division.”
