Last week the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners approved incentives for those who obtain a COVID-19 vaccine. Namely, Alachua County residents receive $25 per shot.
“My fellow Commissioners and I are very excited that we are now at a 66 percent vaccination rate for citizens who are eligible to get the shot,” Commission Chair Ken Cornell said in a statement. “This incentive is just one more tool to help motivate folks to keep themselves, their families and our community safe.”
Those already vaccinated are not eligible for the program, but if you get a shot on Wednesday or later, you can pick up a $25 gift card—or two $25 gift cards after a Moderna or Pfizer sequence—at the Alachua County Health Department office or a participating business.
