The annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Historic Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville on Monday, May 26.
The free event starts at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Monument, with attendees encouraged to arrive by 9:30 a.m. The cemetery is located at 401 SE 21st Ave. A free lunch will also be provided.
The event will be hosted by Alachua County Veteran Services, in collaboration with the city of Gainesville, Vystar Credit Union and Milam Funeral Homes.
This ceremony will honor and remember veterans and military service members who lost their lives in service to the nation. The event will feature a presentation of colors, an American flag ceremony, musical tributes and inspirational words from area leaders.
