Community members are invited to donate blood and help save lives during the “DJs Unite for LifeSouth” blood drive on Saturday, June 13, at the LifeSouth Donor Center in Gainesville.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4039 Newberry Road, and will feature live broadcasts from local MARC Radio stations I Am Country 106.9, Magic 101.3 and The Beach 100.9.

Organizers said the event is designed to encourage blood donations while creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for donors.

All eligible donors who participate will receive an exclusive DJs Unite for LifeSouth T-Shirt and a $25 electronic gift card. Platelet and double red cell donors will receive a $40 electronic gift card.

In addition, all donors will be automatically entered into prize drawings for several grand prizes, including an Urban Cross-Ultra electric bicycle and tickets to SeaWorld.

To donate, individuals must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and present a valid photo identification. Additional donor eligibility requirements may apply.

Organizers encourage community members to make an appointment or stop by during the event to help support the region’s ongoing blood supply needs.

The event is free and open to eligible blood donors.

The MARC Radio Group owns Rock It 100.5, Magic 100.3, R&B 94.1, 106.9 I Am Country, The Beach 100.9, 96.3 FM/1430 AM The Shepherd and 103.5 FM/720 AM in Ocala, along with Mainstreet Daily News.
