Downtown Alachua will come alive with five consecutive Friday nights of free live music beginning Aug. 28 as the Levitt AMP Alachua Music Series returns to Skinner Park on Main Street.
The fall series runs Aug. 28 through Sept. 25 and will feature a different musical experience each week, ranging from blues and reggae to funk, Latin music and a cappella.
Concerts will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays and are free and open to the public.
The concert series will take place after Alachua’s Josh’s Place won a three-year $120,000 concert series grant in November 2025.
Five Fridays, Five Different Sounds
The fall series opens Aug. 28 with Sheba the Mississippi Queen, bringing blues, soul and live energy to Skinner Park. The evening also will feature the Keith Caton Band.
On Sept. 4, Propaganjah will bring reggae rhythms and an energetic live performance to downtown Alachua for Labor Day weekend.
The Headtones will take the stage Sept. 11 for an evening of funk and groove designed to get the crowd moving.
On Sept. 18, Orchestra Fuego will fill Skinner Park with the rhythms and energy of Latin music.
The series concludes Sept. 25 with The Edge Effect, featuring a dynamic a cappella performance created entirely with the human voice.
More Than a Concert
Each Levitt AMP Alachua evening is designed as a community experience. The 6-to-9 p.m. program includes an opening performance, a featured local nonprofit and the evening’s headliner in a relaxed, picnic-style outdoor setting.
Families, friends and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, grab dinner, explore downtown Alachua and spend Friday evenings together under the stars.
The series also provides an opportunity to showcase the businesses, organizations and people who contribute to Alachua’s identity while bringing residents and visitors together through live music.
