A Very GNV Holiday Parade slated for Saturday

The city of Gainesville will be kicking off the holiday season with the A Very GNV Holiday Parade on Saturday.  

The parade will run from noon to 2 p.m. and will run along University Avenue from W. 6th Street to 620 E. University Avenue.  

Among some of the floats will be a 40-foot Regional Transit System (RTS) bus also will appear in the parade, decorated with giant decals of holiday gifts and candy canes, emergency response vehicles from the Gainesville Police Department and Gainesville Fire Rescue, along with dozens of dance troupes, walkers, bands, cars and floats representing organizations and groups from across the community.
