The Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) will host its annual holiday events this weekend.
Trees and Treats will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday and the Holiday Mingle is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Both events will take place at Prairies Creek Lodge (7204 Southeast County Road 234).
Due to limited supplies and space, RSVP with ACT by emailing info@alachuaconservationtrust.org.
“ACT is excited to welcome our community to Prairie Creek Lodge for these two holiday events,” said ACT Associate Director Heather Obara in a press release. “Trees and Treats is a fun way for friends and families to volunteer with ACT leading up to the holidays and the Holiday Mingle is an expression of our gratitude to all our amazing supporters for all they do to ensure that ACT’s mission to keep Florida wild is accomplished.”
Trees and Treats is a family-friendly opportunity to plant longleaf pine seedlings, decorate holiday cookies, and enjoy coffee donated by Opus Coffee.
ACT’s Holiday Mingle is an outdoor celebration of this year’s conservation victories.
Friends and families are welcome to enjoy light food, drinks, and holiday cheer.
ACT recommends bringing picnic blankets and chairs to enjoy the musical performance by Oak Trio.
Both events are free to the public and donations are welcome.
