The Alachua Police Department, the city of Alachua and Just Between Friends (JBF) are partnering ahead of the new school year to host a Back 2 School giveaway at Legacy Park on Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to noon at the park (15400 Peggy Rd., Alachua), families can take home free backpacks and school supplies.
Children must be present to get a backpack and will also receive a voucher for one free kids pizza from Blaze Pizza. Families can also enjoy free food and drinks during the event, as well as free fingerprinting ID kits for children so that parents can keep identification information on hand.

Local consignment store JBF will also be hosting its annual All Season Sale at Legacy Park during the giveaways, an event described as Florida’s largest pop-up children’s resale event.
