Alachua County will offer small farmers and ranchers a grant opportunity for up to $5,000 for capital and equipment expenditures that will positively impact their operation’s income.
The mini-grants, approved by the Alachua County Commission, are available to Alachua County-based ranches and farms that earn between $1,000 and $250,000 annually. The total grant request must not exceed $5,000 and only one application is allowed per form or ranch. The grant has a total funding available of nearly $100,000.
“We’re proud to have supported 65 small farmers since this program began,” said Alachua County Economic Development Manager Sean McLendon in a press release. “Our 2024 analysis highlights our commitment to helping farmers and ranchers from all corners of the community.”
To apply for the grant, download this application and submit it to the County Manager’s Office by 5 p.m. on June 6, 2025.

It would be interesting a year or so from now to have stories about how some of the grants were used, how they benefited the receiver and community or environment.
