
The Alachua County Democratic and Republican parties will be hosting annual events in October.
The Alachua County Democratic Party will be hosting its Lawton Chiles Gala at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 at the University of Florida Hilton Conference Center (901 NW 8th Ave., Gainesville).
The Lawton Chiles Gala will have special guest speakers Andrew Warren, Monique Worrell and State Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-Orlando.
The fundraiser will feature a silent auction.
Ticket prices range from $55 to $100, and attendees can also sponsor a table for $950. For more information, visit the website.
The Alachua County Republican Party will be hosting its annual Ronald Reagan Black Tie and Blue Jean BBQ event at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12 at Legacy Park (15400 Peggy Rd, Alachua).
Special guest speakers for the event are South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack and former U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho.
This year, there will be a special VIP area where attendees will have the chance to speak face to face, sign autographs, and get pictures taken with speakers and other elected officials and dignitaries.
