Alachua County has extended its call for artist proposals to design a sculpture for the new courthouse complex in downtown Gainesville, scheduled to finish in early 2026.

The sculpture should embody justice, and the county wants the piece to be inspired by works like the iconic Contemplation of Justice statue and the Authority of Law statue at the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Artists are encouraged to explore innovative concepts that resonate with the community’s values and vision for justice,” Alachua County said in a release.
