
The Alachua County Library District will celebrate the start of Summer at the Library with its Reader Palooza event slated for Saturday, June 7.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tower Road Branch at 3020 SW 75th St. in Gainesville.
There will be a scavenger hunt, roaming performers, games, summer reading sign-up, and more. When you sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, every patron gets a free summer tote bag.
Pre-register for Summer Reading starting on June 3. Use Beanstack to register. Patrons can track their reading minutes from June 7 to Aug. 10 and earn digital badges for completing reading and discovery challenges.
Each badge earned is a chance to win weekly prizes from Flip Factory Zone. At the end of summer, one child, one teen, and one adult patron will win a tablet from PDQ Restaurant. Register online or at your favorite library location.
When you register for Summer at the Library, participants of all ages will receive a specially designed summer tote bag containing a few giveaway items, while supplies last. Children (ages 0-11) and teens (ages 12-17) will also receive a free book, while supplies last.
