The Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center will be starting a support group for adult survivors of sexual violence on March 19.
The group, which will meet online from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays for eight weeks, is open to women and non-binary survivors. The group is free, but participants need to register by Wednesday, March 13.
The group will allow survivors of violence to openly discuss what happened to them and how it continues to impact their lives. It will also provide tools to process what they’ve experienced.
“Surviving sexual violence can be an incredibly isolating experience,” said Ashley Flattery, a victim advocate counselor, in the press release. “We are grateful to be able to offer this safe space for survivors to join and support each other on their journeys toward healing and recovery.”
