The Alachua County Animal Resources is partnering with the UF’s Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians to host the 14th annual Summer Lovin’ Animal Adopt-a-thon event.
From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Alachua County Animal Resources headquarters (3400 NE 53 Ave., Gainesville), adoption fees for all animals will be waived.
“We are at max capacity with adoptable pets, so we truly hope this adoption event gets our pets into forever homes,” said Alachua County Animal Resources Director Julie Johnson in a press release.
The shelter’s goal at the adoption event is to adopt over 150 of their dogs and cats. Pets will leave the shelter with goodie bags, all needed shots, spayed or neutered and microchipped.
The Alachua County Animal Resource’s normal hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The shelter will close early at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, to set up for the event.
