The boardwalk repairs at Alfred A. Ring Park are now complete.

On Monday, the city of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department made an announcement regarding the park’s boardwalk, along with future renovations.

The renovations, which fixed significant wood rot that created hazards for park visitors, included the replacement of all walking surfaces on the boardwalks and bridge. The top handrails on the boardwalks, along with any deteriorated structural components, were also replaced. New concrete walkways were constructed at the north trailhead bridge and new dog waste stations were installed.
