Gainesville anti-sex trafficking organization ANEW will host a local in-person showing of faith-based speaker, author and actress Priscilla Shirer’s virtual “Going Beyond” simulcast conference for women.
The event is slated from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Salt Church (8105 NW 23rd Ave., Gainesville) and aims to provide inspiration, empowerment, and connection for women across North Central Florida by bringing the love of Jesus through Shirer’s Biblical wisdom and teachings while also fundraising for ANEW.
Singer-songwriter and Shirer’s brother, Anthony Evans, will lead worship sessions and one $39.19 ticket, which can be purchased online, will include a lunch meal.
All proceeds will support ANEW’s mission to help female survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation heal through survivor care, outreach, awareness and prevention programs.
“This will truly be a day of women supporting women and making an eternal impact outside of the walls of our conference,” said Alison Ungaro, ANEW’s founder and executive director.
ANEW reserved a block of rooms at Best Western Gateway Grand (4200 NW 97th Blvd.) for out-of-town guests to reserve for both Friday and Saturday nights at a group discounted rate with code “Priscilla Shirer Conference” at booking.
Shirer and Evans are the children of Texas-based evangelical megachurch pastor, speaker and author, Tony Evans. Shirer’s Going Beyond ministry provides nation-wide events, podcasts, blogs and literary resources focused on expository teaching of the Bible.
