Annual ‘Jazz Up Spring’ concert slated at SF College

The Santa Fe Jazz Ensemble will celebrate the legacy of jazz composers at the annual “Jazz Up Spring” concert on Friday.

The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall on Santa Fe College’s Northwest Campus (3000 NW 83 St.) in Gainesville.

The evening will start with a student-led jazz combo that combines traditional and modern jazz selections. It will be followed by the Santa Fe Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. David Smith, showcasing works by some of jazz’s greatest composers, including Oliver Nelson, Benny and Buster Moten, Bobby Troupe and more.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for seniors, students, children, and military service members, and free for Santa Fe College students, faculty, and staff.
