The Gainesville Community Playhouse will perform “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” running from Friday, July 18, to Aug. 10.

This lively, feel-good musical tells the story of the famous Chicken Ranch, known since the 1850s as one of the better pleasure palaces in Texas. Miss Mona’s cozy bordello welcomes governors, senators, mayors, and even victorious college football teams—until a Puritan nemesis with a TV camera and a mission sets out to bring it down.
Tickets range from $12 to $24, with discounts available for students and senior citizens. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit www.gcplayhouse.org.
