Cade hosts annual Food and Agriculture Festival

If you want to know more about what agricultural commodities are grown in Florida, the Cade Museum will be hosting the Farm Bureau Food and Agriculture Festival on Saturday.

The free event starts at 10 a.m. and will feature food trucks, games, vendors and live music from the Thick and Thin String Band from 2 to 4 p.m.

“We have several different agricultural commodities that will be set up that day with different educational activities,” said Erin Jones with the Alachua County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers in an interview with Larry Wilson at 106.9 FM I Am Country.

Following last year’s hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual event returns.

“This is actually our second time hosting,” Jones said. “The last event we had was in 2019 at the Cade Museum. This event was developed to be hosted during Farm City Week which was hosted by The American Farm Bureau Association to bring farming education to the general public.”

The Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention is located at 811 South Main St. in Gainesville.
