Cade Museum to celebrate its fourth birthday

It’s time to blow out the candles at the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention. The museum turns four this month and will celebrate its birthday on May 21 at 1:30 p.m. with cupcakes served to museum guests.

Once visitors polish off the cupcakes, the Cade will host its 2022 Codebotics Competition starting at 2 p.m.

Codebotics started this spring as one of Cade’s newest programs. In the program, children in third through sixth grade learn to code Dash robots and develop new commands.

Teams of these armature programmers will work through puzzles and obstacle courses at the competition.

“The activities we have planned for the Cade’s Birthday weekend—from the Codebotics competition to the premier of Animationland—represent what the Cade brings to our community,” Stephanie Bailes, CEO of the Cade, said in a statement. “We inspire future inventors, entrepreneurs and visionaries. We are transforming our community by helping children prepare for a future full of challenges we can’t yet begin to imagine.

Museum visitors can watch the competition and also visit the Cade’s newest exhibitAnimationland. The exhibit opens Thursday, May 19.

“As the Cade grows with each year, the museum’s outreach extends to more families, surprising and delighting visitors with creative, outside-the-box programming that entertains and inspires guests of all ages,” Bailes said.
